Venuše je vidět lépe přes den a večer je velmi nízko nad západním obzorem. Po půlnoci je už vidět Saturn a Neptun, ráno uvidíme Merkur, Mars a Uran. Aktivita Slunce je nízká. Nastává maximum meteorického roje Perseid. Zjasnila kometa 220P/McNaught a je dostupná i malým triedrem. Dopad Falconu 9 na Měsíc nevyvolal nijak zásadní oblak hmoty. Před 60 lety začal mapovat Měsíc Lunar Orbiter 1.
